about

unlikely to become my break-out album, though it is one of the prettiest ones forever - but intellectual reservations about echo will ensure that there's not enough people in the world to get me a part in the next Ridley Scott.

Talking of which, I can now report that I seem to have seen every cinema-release this year so far and will be lying awake tonight compiling my list of the year's best films but I suppose my favourite is The Card Counter - it reminded me of a less-violent Drive - the cheesy synth music, the loner who lets himself get tangled up trying to help a needy lost person. Obviously the worst film was the James Bond. Oh I can't remember anything. What I can remember is how tolerant I've been this year and how I enjoyed lots of films which in other years I'd've scoffed at - I actually quite enjoyed the ludicrous Gucci film, I liked the very violent and badly-acted Bull, I liked the noisy visuals/noises in Dune (that's never happened before), I even quite liked The French Dispatch - me, someone who has no tolerance for zaniness etc. And so on. And now I'm going to walk on over in the evening's impending rain and see Hope and I already know that I will like it a lot. It's largely true what they (some) say - the older you get the more thankful you get.
