about

Now this one is much more of a crowd-pleaser - I wasn't surprised that yesterday's masterpiece of mine got exactly zero downloads, in fact zero plays, in fact now I come to think of it I think it was zero visits - I gave the screen a good bash while I was looking at the stats, just in case it was like a stuck barometer and needed a nudge, but nope, nothing shifted, the lines all stuck resolutely to the bottom of my screen. I even keep a strong magnet here in my Music Studio (ie bedroom) and sometimes use it to try to drag some of the pixels up the screen a bit and cheer me up - but nope, nothing doing.

I made this one this morning and it's not come out at all how I expected. It's much better - "better" as in "conventional" - and at my level of obscurity that is where I must aim - every attempt is the sound of me trying to remake Yellow Submarine - and fortunately because there is only one of me and I still don't know how any of the machines work I never come close.

I don't have much to add - I'll just tell you that when I nipped out this morning I was walking down the high street, it was still early, everywhere was quiet, barely anyone around, and then suddenly three feet from my right ear there was this huge male bellow: "YEUYYYY!!!" and I was immediately overtaken by this young wizened ne'er-do-well who was walking a lot faster than me and was obviously late for an appointment - he kept on yelling that same syllable till he faded away from sight and sound and smell.

This does seem to be much more common now - this more extrovert form of communication between punter and dealer, regardless of the fact that they are half a mile apart. I think it's wonderful that things are so much more out in the open, that people are much less inhibited - I really thought that the onset of the smart phone would drive all exuberant forms of communication into extinction, but no, it's like the good old days have returned, our high street is becoming more and more like an old fashioned market - traders and their friendly noisy banter - the country is getting better and better and it's more than just the weather, I might even vote Tory at any forthcoming election.
