about

an ambient thing - it can be safely played very loudly at yr end because nothing bangy suddenly happens and it's the best way to ride its waves of waviness as big as possible - who wants to surf off Ventnor when they can surf off Portugal ?

so I meekly bow to peer pressure and go online to get that number which means I can then go up to a pharmacy counter and get some lateral flow tests but when I ask the nice man on the Asda counter for some he says he can't just accept a bit of paper with biro writing on it, it needs to be on a phone or something, but he's great and says the system is crap and he's just handing them out to anyone anyway and shows me the list of the all the previous "Anonymous" ones that've gone out today - days like these we hardly need reminding that we are all being governed by a bunch of cunts who have absolutely no idea how any of us haul ourselves through the days.

Then to the John Hansard Gallery to see the Derek Jarman exhibition.
I was the only person in it. I liked it. There was a video of A Journey To Avebury playing - music by Coil, though it was filmed even earlier, in 1971 - and i actually sat and watched a bit of it - the sort of thing I've never done before - sooo pretentious when you see other people doing it, but there was no one to see me doing it. And I was moved to see that the hazy super-8 countryside looked no different in 1971 to how it did last weekend, and tomorrow too, I hope, because here I tested negative - I'm disappointed - all this waterfalling of snot (only when I wear a mask) - all for nothing - not even a decent anecdote to be had from it - and I'm not going to waste anymore hankies - just let myself soak away to nothing in the lee of a huge field's rare hedge.
